As we approach the end of the year, we are taking a moment to celebrate the career and contribution of Peter Slade, who will be retiring from his role as Consultant at the end of December 2025.
Peter joined our Romsey office at Strong House following our merger with Kirklands Solicitors LLP in May 2024, having served as Managing Partner there for many years. His leadership, expertise and commitment to client service have been central to the firm’s longstanding reputation across Hampshire.
Throughout his distinguished career, Peter has been known for his depth of knowledge and pragmatic advice across a broad range of property matters. From residential and commercial transactions to advising developers and landowners, Peter’s steady guidance and personal approach have helped countless clients achieve their goals with confidence and clarity.
Peter began his career in local government, spending ten years in the legal departments of Southampton City Council and Test Valley Borough Council before entering private practice. He was admitted as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives in 1981 and joined Kirklands in 1984, where he went on to play an integral role in the firm’s development and success over the next four decades.
Reflecting on Peter’s upcoming retirement, Gareth Horner, Managing Partner at Parker Bullen LLP, said, “Peter has made an outstanding contribution to both Kirklands and Parker Bullen. His knowledge, integrity and genuine care for his clients have earned him enormous respect across the legal community and beyond. Since the merger, Peter has played an invaluable role in ensuring a seamless transition for clients and colleagues alike, and we are delighted that he will continue to be part of our firm in an Ambassadorial capacity. On behalf of everyone at Parker Bullen, I would like to thank him for his exceptional service and wish him every happiness in his retirement.”
Outside the office, Peter’s energy and enthusiasm are just as evident. A keen sportsman, he has represented Hampshire and Dorset in hockey, played cricket for his local club for many years, and is a long-standing member of Stoneham Golf Club. When not on the golf course, he enjoys walking, gardening and cooking; pursuits he is sure to enjoy even more in his retirement, along with being able to spend more time with friends and a growing family.
Peter’s integrity, dedication and personable nature have left a lasting legacy within both Kirklands and Parker Bullen, and we look forward to continuing that connection as he begins this new chapter.
