Signing an agreement is often seen as the point at which matters are settled, and both parties are...
Our success is built on the work of our ambitious lawyers who are committed to giving a first-class legal service to businesses and individuals. We enjoy working together in supportive teams and benefit from a collaborative and friendly culture. Wherever your ambitions lie, we can provide you with first-hand experience, training and support so that you can make a difference and contribute to the firm from your first few months as a Trainee.
Our aim is to give each of our Trainees the best possible training and experience so that they can fulfil their full potential and be part of our ongoing growth and success. We are looking for three to four trainees to join our firm every year from both internal and external applications.
PB Training Programme
Our Trainee Solicitors are the future of our firm, which is why we created the PB Training Programme to provide our Trainees with a structured and beneficial route to becoming a Solicitor.
Those external candidates who apply for a Training Contract with us, should you be successful upon your interview, you will be invited to work in one of our offices as a Paralegal for 12 months before commencing your Training Contract. This is to ensure we can offer you the right opportunities across our firm, and for you to demonstrate the abilities you can bring to us. Following successful completion of your time as a Paralegal, and depending on the needs of the firm at the time, we will then discuss you beginning your Training Contract.
Where do our Trainees work?
We have offices in Andover, Romsey, Salisbury, Totton and Witney. During your Training Contract you will spend time in all offices, working with and learning from highly experienced lawyers with a variety of specialisms. This will give you the best exposure to different practice areas, so you are well placed to choose your preferred department on qualification. During your two-year training contract, you will experience both contentious and non-contentious work. You will be allocated meaningful work, and you will be in the front line of client service from the outset, gaining a commercial perspective which is not often possible in larger firms.
What are we looking for?
There is no such thing as a typical Parker Bullen colleague, but what we all have in common is a commitment to be the best in our field and provide an outstanding service to our clients. We aim to recruit Trainees who share this ambition, who are driven to succeed, who are academically strong and keen to learn. We also want to be confident that our Trainees can balance conflicting demands on their time, have good verbal and written communication skills and who can work well in teams. You should also have a genuine desire to work and live locally, and you should be on course to achieve or have already achieved a 2:1.
Training and Experience
Our Training Partner, Gareth Horner, will oversee your training and experience and ensure you achieve a smooth and happy path to qualifying as a Solicitor.
“Our Trainees enjoy an experience throughout their training which is second to none. With early (fully supervised) involvement on client matters, excellent mentoring and support from senior lawyers and the opportunity to learn a wide range of essential business skills in our PB Training Programme, each Trainee is encouraged to give of their best, collaborate with their colleagues and to become an effective solicitor in their chosen specialism.”
