William, GDL student at University of Law
The best way to understand if a career at Parker Bullen is for you, is to join one of our work placement schemes. We offer one week opportunities in one or both of our offices throughout the Easter and Summer Vacations. You will sit alongside our legal teams, observe their work and see the application of law in practice.
All our work placement candidates will automatically be considered for a training contract; there is no need to reapply.
Natalie, final year undergraduate at Exeter
What are we looking for?
All of our work placement candidates are interested in learning more about the possibility of developing their career with our firm. Successful applicants come from all sorts of backgrounds but what they all have in common is the potential to be a successful trainee with us. For work placements, we are looking for students who have completed a minimum of two years of an undergraduate law degree or three years of an undergraduate non-law degree. You should be on course to achieve or have already achieved a 2:1. You may have graduated already and be studying for your GDL or LPC.
We look for candidates who can demonstrate that they have drive and ambition, who are academically strong and keen to learn. We also want to be confident that our trainees can balance conflicting demands on their time, have good verbal and written communication skills and who can work well in teams.
How to apply
We offer up to ten work placement opportunities in the Easter and Summer vacation every year. We consider strong applications at any time of year although our first round of selection will start in the December before you wish to join us, so we recommend that you apply early.
If you are interested in applying then please complete our application form and send it to firstname.lastname@example.org.
