Sarah joined Parker Bullen as a Partner leading our Witney office which opened in October 2022. Working alongside Niki Coombes, Sarah is able to offer individuals, businesses and families in Witney and the wider Oxford area support in a number of areas including Employment Law, Family Law and advice for those in the Armed Forces.
Those from the military community find Sarah’s unique insight from her previous experience serving in the Armed Forces and working within the Ministry of Defence invaluable. She is able to advise on any Service legal problem whether that is a civil dispute, conduct issue or Family matter, such as a divorce or separation.
In addition to her military and Family work, Sarah also has a keen interest and vast experience in acting for employers and employees in both contentious and non-contentious Employment Law matters, ranging from contracts, policies and processes as well as employee relations concerns and Settlement Agreements.
Sarah takes great pride in providing her clients with clear advice, progressing cases efficiently and producing the best outcome cost effectively.
Sarah passed the Bar Finals in 1988 before requalified and being admitted as a Solicitor in 1991. She went on to spend eight years in private practice in West Wales, carrying out a varied litigation caseload before joining the Royal Air Force in 1996.
Sarah served for 16 years in the Directorate of Legal Services (RAF) in a variety of legal roles in England, Northern Ireland, Germany, Cyprus and Italy, leaving as a Wing Commander in 2012. Five of these years were spent at the Ministry of Defence in the team responsible for overhauling the legislation for the British Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force, producing the Armed Forces Act 2006.
On leaving the RAF, Sarah initially worked freelance in Witney as a consultant, before moving to a local firm as a Partner. During her time here, she had a mixed caseload of litigation matters but primarily set up and successfully led their Armed Forces department, providing specialist advice to members of the military, veterans, civil servants and dependants.
