Chris Gwinn

Chris joined the firm in 1998 six months after qualifying as a Solicitor, for which he trained in the City.  In 2010, he was promoted to an Associate of the firm and in April 2024 to Senior Associate.

In his role within the Company and Commercial department, Chris advises on a broad range of clients including individuals, sole traders, unincorporated partnerships, limited liability partnerships and companies.  He has led on share sales of up to five million pounds, but the majority of his work is concerned with matters for small to medium sized enterprises.  In 2022, Chris led in obtaining affiliate membership of the British Franchise Association for our Andover office and is a recognised specialist in this area.  Since 2011, Chris has assisted a number of former schools with conversion to Academy status.

In his dealings with his clients, Chris carries out a wide range of services for business clients, tailored to each of their particular requirements to help build, grow and support their businesses.  These include corporate work (such as incorporating companies, corporate governance, shareholders' agreements and sales and purchases of businesses and of shares); commercial work (such as terms of sale and terms of purchase, drafting and negotiating contracts, and reviewing, preparing and advising on licences and franchise agreements); employment work (such as advising on TUPE, service agreements and settlement agreements); and intellectual property work (in particular, copyright and trade marks). 

Outside of work, Chris enjoys walks in the countryside with his labrador, the theatre, history and genealogy.
