He has a particular interest in Inheritance Tax planning and Trust matters and has experience in dealing with large, long established and complex trusts and estates.
During his time with the firm, he has had the pleasure to assist in the development of our Wills, Probate and Estate Planning department progressing to the Head of the team which has grown significantly. He is proud to lead a team who are all dedicated in providing the best possible advice and service to clients and who are so supportive to each other.
He is pleased to be at the point in his career where he has acted for families for multiple generations who trust him to provide the advice not only that they require but also to advise their children and grandchildren. Using this information, he is able to advise clients about what is best for them but also what is best for their families, where appropriate. Over the years, Ashley has advised families with estates ranging from the small to the very large (£70million+). With this nature of work, Ashley values the variety and enjoys working with a whole range of different clients with varying views and objectives.
When advising any client, Ashley always aims to work with colleagues and contacts together with a client’s own accountants and financial advisers to find the best solutions or outcomes. He thrives when solving challenging problems particularly in relation to Trusts, estates and estate planning. His dual qualification in both legal and tax areas enables him to advise clients at a high level and provide a whole service where several different advisers may otherwise be required. His approach is to always be friendly and not too formal, providing advice that is pragmatic, understandable and treating clients how we want to be treated ourselves.
